Your baby's log is yours
Plain words about what Munckie keeps, where it lives, and how to remove it. Last updated 9 October 2026.
Who we are
Munckie is a small, independent baby log made in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It is in early testing with a small group of families. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What Munckie stores
- Your email address, to sign you in (you get a one-time code by email) and to know which family you belong to.
- Photos you add: a normal and a small copy, plus a sharp copy for printing the photo book. Limits per family keep the service fair for everyone.
- What you enter: your baby's name, birth date and photo; feeds, sleep, diapers, pumping, solids, growth and health entries (such as a temperature or a medicine); notes, moments and photos; names of the people you invite.
- Settings for reminders, if you turn them on, and the address your phone gives us to deliver them.
- Siri shortcut keys, if you make one. We only keep a scrambled version (a hash), not the key itself.
Some of this, like temperatures and medicines, is health information. You decide what you log; nothing is required. Munckie uses it only to show it back to you and the people you invite. Munckie gives no medical advice.
What Munckie doesn't do
- No ads, and no trackers or analytics, in the app or on this website.
- Your data is not sold, and not shared with anyone outside your family.
- No AI looks at your entries or photos.
Where it lives
Munckie runs on Cloudflare: the website, the app, the sign-in, the database and the photo storage. The database and the photos are kept in Europe. Everything travels encrypted (https), and Cloudflare stores it encrypted on its disks. Munckie is not end-to-end encrypted yet: that is planned before Munckie opens to everyone. Your phone also keeps a copy, so the app works without a connection.
Only the people in your family can see your family's log and photos. Families are kept apart on the server, not just in the app.
How long, and deleting it
- Your log stays until you delete it.
- Delete everything: in the app, Settings → Family → "Delete our family and all data". This removes every entry, photo and member from the server at once, and clears your phone.
- Leave a family you were invited to: Settings → Family → "Leave this family".
- Weekly backups (to be able to repair mistakes) are kept for at most about three months, then removed. Cloudflare's own database history goes back a few days.
- Want a copy first? Settings → Data → save a backup: a file with everything you logged.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in (from Cloudflare's sign-in). Your settings, like the night light, are stored on your phone only. No tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, receive or delete your data at any time, and most of it you can do yourself in the app. Write to [email protected]. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Testers
Munckie is still being built. Things change, and something can go wrong: save a backup now and then. You need to be 16 or older to use Munckie; the log is about your child, kept by you.
